Chevetogne boasts a delightful province-owned recreational estate that is home to no less than ten different playgrounds for the kiddies. You can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor swimming pool whilst a picnic in the grounds comes warmly recommended. The grounds also has cafés and restaurants.
The nearby Benedictine monastery is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys polyphonic chant. If you have the time, make sure you step inside the monastery for a visit.
In the afternoon, it is just a half an hour drive to Han-sur-Lesse where you are not likely to forget your visit to the world famous caves. From Han-sur-Lesse village centre, a vintage panoramic tram takes visitors all the way up to the cave entrance. Going in, you will be exploring three kilometres of fascinating subterranean beauty.
The Trophy Hall holds a colossal sinter formation certain to leave an indelible mark on any visitor. Inside the Light Dome, 145 metres in length and reaching 62 metres in height, you cannot help but feel awe-struck and slightly dwarfed by the sheer magnitude of the splendour on offer. You will be exiting the cave complex by taking a boat ride across the underground river.
