- Nürburgring: unleash the speed merchant within
The Nürburgring is Germany's best-known race track with plenty of kicks to be had. - Mayen and Monreal, the most beautiful village of Rheinland-Pflaz. And that is official!
In Mayen, you will be descending into an old slate colliery. An underground adventure you will enjoy recovering from in Monreal; where you will be happy to deliver yourself with abandon to what is officially the prettiest village of Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany. - Cochem: a 1000 years back into time
In Cochem, you will be wandering around narrow streets. Inside the fort, you will be reliving the Middle Ages whilst the water coaster in nearby Klotten offers plenty of refreshment. - Daun: volcano à go-go
The Eifel is a volcanic region, dotted with volcanic lakes offering refreshment. In Daun, you will find ample proof that volcanoes inspired the regional cuisine.
Nürburgring: unleash the speed merchant within
Just 15 km from Sunparks Eifel is the Nürburgring, where the annual Formula 1 Grand Prix tournament is held. The Nürburgring enjoys a fame that reaches far beyond the Eifel. Here, you get to take a glimpse behind the scenes. Unless of course you prefer the real thing: strong-limbed beefcakes can take a ride with a real pilot in the driver's seat. Then again, if you prefer to take the steering wheel yourself, raising hell by racing a motorbike or a quad bike across the race course, that is another option open to speed merchants.
On the way back to Sunparks, pull over in Zenmüllen. Just outside the town centre is La Lanterna, racing pilot Michael Schumacher's favourite restaurant. Chef is Italian born and bread. Small wonder he sticks to the time-honoured cuisine of 'la mamma'.
After a nightcap to round off the day, it just ten more minutes to Sunparks Eifel.
Nürburgring is 15 km from Sunparks Eifel. Warmly recommended for anyone who loves speed and the rush of adrenalin.
